Chateau Kefraya

Situated in the heart of Lebanon, in the Bekaa valley, Chateau Kefraya’s 300 hectare domain extends to the foothills of Mount Lebanon, 20 km to the south of the city of Chtaura. The vineyards are planted in a succession of terraces and hills which are often on quite abrupt slopes, at an altitude of 950 to 1100 meters on clayey, limy and stony soils and with six to seven months a year without any precipitation. The winery is located at the centre of the domain and is fitted with highly sophisticated equipment allowing the manually gathered grapes to be conveyed, picked off from the bunch, vinified and pressed in small quantities and with maximum care and attention to each individual parcel.

Clos St. Thomas

Since the beginning of time, everyone who stepped onto the Lebanese soil has paid tribute to the fertile land called : The Bekaa Valley. This stretch of land has been known as the cradle of the biggest empires. The Bekaa Valley is where the Romans chose to build one of the biggest jewels of Lebanon – The Temple of Bacchus – holding within its walls the hymn of love and the mystery and secrets of wine Winemaking is an art.

Knowledge as well as sensitivity are primary qualities of a good winemaker. Said TOUMA, with his long family tradition of 100 years in alcohol, is more than qualified to perform this art. Out of all the winemaking stages, it is that fermentation and preservation require up to date technology and highly sophisticated equipment: Only the finest are used to produce Clos St.Thomas.

Chateau Ksara

All of Ksara vineyards are located in the central and western Bekaa Valley. At an average altitude of 1,000 meters, the Bekaa enjoys dry summers and has the added bonus of its own natural water table, courtesy of the melting snow that runs off the slopes of the Lebanon and Anti-Lebanon mountain ranges.
The soil ranges from chalk, to clay and chalk, to clay and lime, but it is always stony. The Bekaa enjoys a Mediterranean climate, with heavy rains and snow in the winter, a mild spring and a dry  in some cases very dry hot summer. The slope on either side of the valley and the valley itself create a unique micro-climate in which the cool nights compensate for the hot summer days.

Domaine Wardy

Our vineyards spread all over the Bekaa valley, a plateau of 900m of altitude soaring to 1700m.
the Bekaa Valley is an ideal area for growing grapes. With cold, snowy winters and very dry hot summers the area has been planted with vines since the times of the Phoenicians. The magnificent Roman temple of Bacchus at Baalbek is a great testament to its ancient winemaking history.

Domaine Wardy Vineyards are spread across the Bekaa plateau from the north (Ainata, Deir el Ahmar, Bechwat), to the capital (Zahle), to the south (Kab Elias, Aana, Mansoura).

The Grape Varieties are:
Reds: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Shiraz, Merlot, Carmenere,Tempranillo, Pinot Noir, Cinsault and Caladoc.
Whites: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Ugni Blanc, Clairette, Muscat and Viognier.
